Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2022/693 will be expired on 3 February 2023. EU has given a further 18 months’ extension. The temporary suspension of the visa exemption for nationals of Vanuatu will be extented from 4 February 2023 to 3 August 2024.
The partial suspension of the application of the Agreement between the EU and Vanuatu on the short-stay visa waiver (07/03/2022)
According to the Council Decision (EU) 2022/366, the partial suspension of the application of the Agreement between the European Union and the Republic of Vanuatu on the short-stay visa waiver is suspended from 4 May 2022 as regards citizens of Vanuatu who granted the citizenship via investment citizenship schemes after 25 May 2015.
Public Health Emergency Declared (14/02/2022)
The Public Health Emergency is declared and valid till July 31, 2022.
The State of Emergency (SOE) period has been extended for one month (30/12/2021)
The extension is attributed to the continuous global existence of COVID-19, and it is declared throughout Vanuatu. It commences on January 1 and ceases to have effect on January 31, 2022.The extension period will begin from August 1 to December 31 this year and shall be extended. The extension will be applied over the whole of Vanuatu for strengthening international border control prevention measures and infection prevention and control standards in response to the COVID-19 epidemic.
